Pilates!

Yesterday Miss Mel and I thought it would be fun to do a Pilates class. Well the class was really fun but at the same time it totally kicked our butts! We think our instructor liked hearing us in pain. She smiled when she saw us grimace!

Here was us before the class!

Miss Mel is clearly super jazzed about the class!
Honestly if you would like a full body workout, we totally recommend Pilates! Really the class was a ton of fun but we know we'll be sore for the next few days. One of those you didn't know these muscles existed until they were aching pain. Secretly I totally love these sorts of exercises but at the same time I'm always cursing myself for this self-torture. What are some of your favorite types of workouts?

Running

So lets talk about the serious love/hate relationship Miss Mel and I have with this thing called running. Running can be super fun and a great way to energize your day but getting there can sometimes be a pain. Since we're both in school and have jobs, finding the time to work out can be difficult. Honestly those are the times when we really should be finding time for even a short jog or mini-workout. Personally I always feel more relaxed and energized after a run, more amped to take on the world if you will. It's one of the best ways to de-stress besides getting a massage (I think I can speak for everyone when I say I wish I could have a live-in masseuse at my beck and call) but since that's not in the cards anytime soon I think I'll stick with a nice run through the park. Also another great thing we love is going running with a friend or group of friends. It helps motivate me to run the whole route instead of running half, walking some then crawling the rest. Speaking of running in groups Miss Mel and I each participated in our very first 5Ks this year, I did the Pumpkin Dash for the Cure in October and Miss Mel did the Santa's North Pole Dash in December. Here we are!
