DIY: Chalkboard Wine Glasses

For our friend Bosch's graduation party, Ellen and I decided to make her chalkboard wine glasses. They were SUPER easy and funnily enough, she ended up making some for us to use at her graduation party! I guess great minds do think alike haha!

Supplies:
Wine Glasses
*They sell really nice/inexpensive ones at Walmart and any dollar store!*
Painters Tape
Spray Chalkboard Paint

Step One
Wrap the stem of your wine glass with painters tape.
This is to ensure that when you spray the chalkboard paint it doesn't coat the whole stem.

Step Two
Grab your chalkboard paint and spray a couple coats on the bottom of the glass.

Step Three
Lay them out to dry!

Step Four
Unwrap the painters tape and grab some chalk to write whatever message you want!

I think these are great to use at parties so you can write everyone's name on them.
It's definitely cuter than the old red solo cup and permanent marker combo...
You could also tie a ribbon around them to give them some extra pizazz!
*Thanks to Ellen and Bosch for making these!*

Don't forget the wine!

Sweet Sounds

So I've recently become obsessed with the band by the name of Of Monsters and Men. The band is comprised of six people with male and female vocalists. They're Icelandic which earns them extra cool points and their music isn't bad either!

Here's one of their most popular songs:
"Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men

I can't seem to get the song out of my head, seriously I find myself humming the tune without even trying! Hopefully you guys will love them as much I do!

Do or Don't: Texting At Dinner

Recently, I've found myself being on my phone more frequently then usual.
I do have an iPhone so my entire life is pretty much on it.
Literally. My. Entire. Life.
Nah, just kidding...kinda.

Whether it's chatting with friends (I have friends, I swear), checking my email (curse the day I changed the setting to update my emails every hour!), seeing how this blog is doing, finding out what's on Facebook and Twitter (ooo a new follower!) or scouring the internet for more "Mean Girls" quotes, my phone is never too far out of reach.

However, the other day I found myself texting while out to dinner with my friends and I became instantly annoyed with myself. I thought, "why am I texting other people and ignoring the people in front of me?"
How annoying. I became one of "those people". Yuck.

...
Obviously, there is a balance.
For instance, an emergency or if you need to send a quick text that's fine but, having full-blown texting conversations while out with others, in my book, is a don't.

What do you think? Does it really matter? Are people so used to others being entranced by their phones that they don't even notice?

While writing this post, I became inspired to do my best to not check my phone while having a meal with friends or when I'm with my friends or family at all.
I think I'll enjoy the company of the people in front of me rather than the glow of my beloved iPhone.
Who's with me!?
