Red Wine Sangria

After a few trials and error I believe I've finally found a good traditional sangria recipe. Earlier this month I made a white wine sangria and one of our friends pointed out to me that I was doing it wrong, I needed red wine. So here goes!

Ingredients:
Bottle of red wine ( preferably a dryer wine like a Cabernet Sauvignon )
About 1/4 cup sugar
2 oranges
2 peaches
1 lemon

1. First you're going to cut up one of the oranges, both peaches and the lemon. Add to pitcher.

2. Add the sugar to the cut up fruit. Juice the other orange and add it to the pitcher. Mash together.

3. Add the bottle of wine and chill for a few hours.

4. Pour over ice and enjoy!

I made this for a little get together at Miss Mel's house and it was a great hit! Hope you guys enjoy it as well! What are some of your favorite sangria recipes?

Are you a "Nasty Gal"?

No, no! Get your mind out of the gutter!
Of course, I'm talking about the online clothing store "Nasty Gal" , not an episode of "Big, Rich Texas"!

I discovered "Nasty Gal" through Pinterest (duh.) and I thought I would share their awesome website with you!

Basically, they started out as selling vintage pieces on eBay and then exploded! They specialize in unique, sometimes "out there" and "how on earth do you wear that" pieces but that's kinda the point.

Check out "Nasty Gal" by clicking here.

Below are couple of things on my wishlist that I would kill to have in my closet.

What do you think? Will you become a "Nasty Gal" after all?

Sweet Sounds

To brighten up your Tuesday, Miss Heather and I want to share a song with you!

The Civil Wars are a band made up of two singer-songwriters, Joy Williams and John Paul White. The best way I've heard them described is when I read the following quote I found on Youtube under the comments of their NPR Tiny Desk Concert performance;

"Alabama boy meets California girl. They share a killer harmony, a deadly romantic chemistry, and a destructive love of folk. It's like something out of a damn book."

Enjoy!
