Bestie Fashion Hour: Summer Concert Style

Hey we're back with another round of Bestie Fashion Hour and this time were dressing for a summer concert! The key to dressing for summer concerts is to where a minimal amount of clothing while also looking cool.

I'm just going to point out that Miss Mel pretended to hate Miss Heather's wolf shirt. Look who's loving it now! hehe

I don't know what it is about summer concerts but Miss Mel and I have agreed they're just about the most fun you'll ever have. Maybe it has something to do with the fact  that we just absolutely love being outdoors and live music, but really who doesn't like that?

Bestie Fashion Hour: Picnic Style

As we mentioned last week Miss Mel and Miss Heather got to spend a whole week together and out of that time together we had some great brain storming sessions! We decided to start a new trend for the blog we like to call "Bestie Fashion Hour". To be honest we got the idea from one of our favorite blogs, A Beautiful Mess, where they do a segment called Sister Style. Basically we wanted to share our closets with you guys, plus we just really love dressing up for any occasion! This week's outfits were styled around what we would wear to a picnic!

During Miss Mel's stay at my place we spent the majority of time outside so it was only fitting we start off with our picnic styles!

Another huge inspiration for our picnic style would be a tradition Miss Mel and I started two years ago in St. Louis. The Missouri Botanical Garden throws free concerts every Wednesday of the summer. We basically went to every one and had a blast every time!  We can't wait to start up the tradition again this summer! What are some of your guys favorite picnic times?

Summer Beverages

Do you have a certain beer, wine or specialty drink that you whip out and instantly think of summer?
I've been thinking about this for a few days and I think my "summertime drinks" have become Landshark Lager (which is actually brewed in St. Louis, Missouri!) and Ménage à Trois Chardonnay.

Landshark Lager is an extremely light beer that is basically a step up from Bud Light, most of my guy friends call it "chick beer"....,which makes it perfect to have at a summer BBQ or just hanging out around a bonfire with friends.
The Ménage à Trois is actually my favorite brand of wine because they take a blend of three wines and blend them together to create one unique wine. So for instance, the chardonnay is made up of three of California's top chardonnay's.
I think my reasoning behind choosing both of these drinks is because they are light and refreshing enough to drink even during the hottest of Missouri days. Trust me, Missouri summer's can be unbearable at times. Oh, the humidity!

Haha! This cracked me up!
Do you have a summertime drink? Is it beer or wine or do you venture out and try and make a magnificent margarita? Miss Heather and I wanna know! We are always looking to try and make new recipes!

Frozen yogurt drops!

Frozen yogurt drops have become my new favorite summer snack! These are super easy to make and so tasty. I'll show you guys how to make them for yourselves!

Ingredients:
Yogurt
Spoon
Wax paper
Cookie sheet or flat plate

1. Lay some wax paper down on a flat surface. Then open your yogurt container and start putting about quarter-sized drops down on the wax paper.

2. Put that in the freezer for about 20-30 minutes then enjoy!

I would recommend if you're not eating them just keep them in a bowl or Tupperware in the freezer otherwise they'll melt, then you just have...regular yogurt, and really who wants that?  What's your guys favorite snack to keep you cool in the summer?

Summer Beauty

I think it's safe to say that now it is officially summertime!
WHOOO!

With it being 90 degrees + all the time in Missouri, my summer beauty regiment is a pretty drastic change from what I normally do during the other three seasons.
Below I am listing some of my favorite sweat-proof and tan rocking beauty products that hopefully you can try out and enjoy as well!

I use this every time I get out the shower, especially after being in the sun all day. It makes your skin feel like a dream and makes it glisten without being too greasy.

I put this in my hair all year round but in the summer when it's scorching outside and you don't want to use a blow-dryer on your hair, all you have to do is spray this into your hair, brush it out and you are good to go! My hair always dries perfectly, smells great and is never frizzy with this spray. Perfect for battling the humidity!

I recently started using this foundation as a change up from my Bare Minerals. My only reasoning is because sometimes my Bare Minerals make-up feels so heavy in the summertime and I literally feel like it's melting off my face. Therefore, I tried out CoverGirl's AquaSmooth Foundation which hydrates your face while wearing it and even goes on feeling "cold".

This lip balm is a serious miracle worker. I think a lot of people forget their lips can get just as sunburned as the rest of their bodies and thus, forget how important SPF lip balm can be. Whenever I use mine, I instantly feel like it's summertime.

Yes, I know I'm not a baby but baby sunscreen is always the best! It's 100% natural, fragrance free, hypoallergenic, oil-free and water-resistant. I even recommend wearing under make-up to prevent your make-up from sweating off on super hot days.

Now, I'm sure there will be one point during these summer months where you will get a sunburn and this stuff will be your best friend. It has coca and shea butter and will heal your poor, poor skin. It's also 100% all-natural and smells great!

What are some of your favorite summer beauty products? We'd love to know and try them out for ourselves!
