Recently I've discovered this beyond awesome company, Sseko(pronounced Say-ko) Designs! The company is set out of Uganda and most of the proceeds go towards women furthering their education. Basically how could I not help? For more exact info check out their website at

Their biggest claim to fame would be their lace-up sandals. They have so many different ways to
style them up and ask people to submit new and different ways they think up.

Along with tons of ways to style them they keep coming out with new straps! The originals are a thicker cotton, more for everyday use, but they've come out with some silkier ones that would be better for nicer occasions. Basically they've made these shoes useful for any occasion!
One of the really cool things about the shoes is that you actually get to see who made your shoes and track how her life and education is going. Their slogan is "every sandal has a story". Also not that I don't think I haven't already sold you on them but did I mention they're extremely comfortable? Well they are, take it from a girl who bikes around town in them, they work!
