DIY: Personalized Dish

As part of a graduation gift for our friend, Bosch, Ellen and I made her a personalized dish to hold jewelry, put on display or even eat off of! It was super easy to create and here's how to make your own!

Supplies:
Dish of your choosing
Scrapbook Paper
Initials or Design
ModPodge
Acrylic Sealer or any water-proofing spray
Paintbrush
Scissors or Exacto-Knife

Step One:
Cut your scrapbook paper to the dimensions of your dish.
Since we used a square dish we decided to only cover the inner-square with the scrapbook paper.

Step Two:

Paint a thin layer of ModPodge onto the dish and place your cut scrapbook paper on top. Use your fingers to smooth out any air bubbles that might occur.

Step Three (optional!):
Take your design or initials and use a thin layer of ModPodge to secure it to the dish.
We decided to use Boschs' initials but feel free to add your own design or just have the decorative scrapbook paper stand by itself!

Step Four:
Paint a thin layer of ModPodge over the entirety of your scrapbook paper.

Step Five:

Wait until the ModPodge has completely dried and then spray a couple coats of acrylic sealer over the entire dish. This will make sure your design stays put and waterproofs it all!

Have fun crafting!

p.s. I apologize for the quality of these photos...they were taken in the dark, dark basement at Ellen's house in her crafting corner with my phone...hopefully, you can still see our beautiful creation!
